TFX - Natural History Museum - 08

Team FREDNET went to the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History recently, and spent two days learning about the history of science.  This is a wonderful museum for kids of all ages, and the perfect environment to stimulate your little ones into bigger and broader ideas about the world around them.  Here we continue to explore the gem and mineral exhibit, which is the best I've seen since the Smithsonian in Washington D.C.  This part of the exhibit is about metoers and meteorites, both real, and false.  Some of these samples were picked up by rock-hounds whom were hopeful that they had found a meteorite.  While these are false meteorites, this display talks about what signs to look for to help you find the real thing.
