Fundraising is one of the hardest challenges of getting to the Moon---and Team Indus has just announced that they have completed a round of funding that raised nearly $1.5 million!

Team Indus, hard at work!

This includes donations from investors like InfoSys co-founder Nandan Nilekani, and HCL founder Ajai Chowdhry:

"I decided to invest in (Team Indus) not for economic returns, but because it's an extremely audacious project. It is an amazing feat that a team of scientists from India is landing a robot on the moon." -Ajai Chowdry, HCL founder (pictured above; image: LinkedIn).

Major tech professionals, getting on board with the Moon!

Team Indus, who just scored a $1 million Milestone Prize in January, say that this is just the beginning---with more funding, including crowdfunding, on the way for this year. So keep an eye out for that!
